The RFID reader is a network-connected device that can be portable or permanently attached. It uses radio waves to transmit signals that activate the tag. Once activated, the tag sends a wave back to the antenna, where it is translated into data.

In most instances, each type of passive RFID tag (LF, HF, or UHF) can only be read by the SAME type of passive RFID reader. For instance, usually an LF reader will only be able to read an LF tag; it will not able to read an HF or a UHF tag.some type of reader can read multy of protocol standards,like HF reader support ISO 15693, ISO 18000-3M3 and ISO 14443A/B,and they also only can read the same stander many tags at same time.
